Viktor Grigorev is the Founder and Head Coach of SV Chess Academy, a Bay Area chess education program dedicated to helping children grow through chess. His mission is to make chess more than just a game — using it as a tool to build focus, critical thinking, confidence, emotional resilience, and strong decision-making skills.
Originally from Saint Petersburg, Russia, Viktor moved to the United States in 2022 and began building a new life through teaching, entrepreneurship, and community service. After starting as a chess coach, he quickly recognized how powerful chess can be for children, families, and communities — a vision that led him to create SV Chess Academy, where students learn in a structured, supportive, and inspiring environment.
Beyond teaching, Viktor has contributed to the local chess ecosystem by organizing community events, creating opportunities for players of all levels to connect, and promoting chess as a positive social and educational activity. His work reflects a commitment to building inclusive spaces where students, parents, and community members feel welcomed and supported.
