Coach Archit Dasika brings a rare combination of elite competitive achievement and a decade of hands-on coaching experience to SV Chess Academy. A Bay Area native and accomplished Software Engineer, Archit’s life has always balanced analytical thinking with a love for people — whether on the chessboard, the basketball court, or the trails he explores in his free time.

Archit’s chess story began at ages 5–6, when his father sat down with him and taught him the game — sparking a passion that never left. He went on to earn the title of National Master, a distinction held by a small fraction of players worldwide, backed by decades of competitive experience. And in a fun twist, despite learning chess so young, he didn’t step into his first tournament until age 15 — proving that it’s never too early, or too late, to compete.

With 10 years of coaching experience across all ages and levels, Archit’s approach is refreshingly practical. He keeps the focus on tactics and real game skills over heavy theory — because in his view, the best way to improve is to actually play better chess. What fuels him most as a coach is watching students improve rapidly, often surprising even themselves with how quickly they grow.

Whether your child is picking up a chess piece for the first time or looking to sharpen their competitive edge, Coach Archit meets every student where they are and pushes them forward.
